A 21st-round pick for the Astros in the 2016 draft, Robinson was selected by the Reds in the 2020 minor league Rule 5 draft, which eventually resulted in Robinson making his Major League debut in a Cincinnati uniform.
Even after hitting a very solid .290/.356/.450 over 413 PA with Triple-A Louisville, Robinson couldn't crack a pretty crowded Reds depth chart that saw Tyler Stephenson and Curt Casali all getting turns behind the plate.
