The Chicago White Sox placed rookie infielder Chase Meidroth on the 10-day injured list due to right thumb inflammation. Meidroth admitted he had been playing through the discomfort but decided it was best to rest. To fill his roster spot, Bobby Dalbec was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. Dalbec, who previously spent five seasons with the Red Sox, will return to Fenway for the team's Patriots' Day game. Additionally, left-hander Martin Pérez was moved to the 60-day injured list due to elbow inflammation.
I started feeling it again. I was kind of just playing through it for a week now. It kinda got to the point where the best thing moving forward was to just shut it down for a little bit.
Dalbec elected for free agency and signed with Chicago in January. He returns to Fenway for Boston's annual Patriots' Day game.
