"Pereira was Chicago's starting right fielder in five of the team's first six games, and he had a .250/.294/.500 slash line and one homer over his first 17 trips to the plate."
"Murray's first game was highlighted by an impressive play when the Jays had the bases loaded with two out in the third inning, as Murray got to a tricky Addison Barger grounder up the middle and threw Barger out to end the threat."
Everson Pereira was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left ankle sprain, retroactive to April 2. Tanner Murray was called up from Triple-A and made his Major League debut as the starting shortstop. Pereira's injury occurred during a game against the Marlins, and despite rest, he required an IL visit. He had a .250/.294/.500 slash line with one homer in his first 17 plate appearances. Murray, a fourth-round draft pick, has had decent minor league numbers but an uninspiring Triple-A performance.
