Eloy Jimenez placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to April 2 after suffering a left abductor strain. The White Sox made corresponding moves, bringing in outfielder Robbie Grossman and designating Alex Speas for assignment.
Robbie Grossman, previously with the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers, was selected after performing well at Triple-A Charlotte Knights. He brings experience and solid stats to the White Sox.
Alex Speas, claimed from Texas in 2023, was designated for assignment. He had a good start with Charlotte this season, working 2.1 scoreless IP over two relief appearances.
