In a disappointing outing for Bryse Wilson, the Chicago White Sox lost 7-1 to the Cincinnati Reds. Wilson started by walking the leadoff batter Gavin Lux and went on to allow seven runs on ten hits in just over five innings. The Reds' Elly De La Cruz stood out, contributing a run-scoring single and a solo home run. Following this defeat, the White Sox's three-game winning streak came to an end, and they announced a roster addition, claiming infielder Vinny Capra from the Brewers.
"Second start in a row walking the first guy on four pitches, which is unacceptable," the pitcher said. "Physically, I felt good. It was just very bad execution."
Wilson allowed seven runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts and one walk in 5 1/3 innings. "The pitch count kind of stayed pretty good even though I was giving up runs," he said.
Manager Will Venable noted, "Really like defensively, gives us an opportunity to move (infielder) Chase (Meidroth) around, to give Chase days."
The Sox (14-30) saw their season-high three-game winning streak end.
