Former Marlins manager Skip Schumaker, who won National League Manager of the Year honors with Miami in 2023, is no longer being considered by the White Sox in their ongoing managerial search.
Regardless, the report largely eliminates the possibility of Schumaker leading a new dugout in 2025. His former Marlins club and the Reds marked the only other managerial vacancies of the offseason.
Even without an immediate managerial opening that makes sense for Schumaker, he'll have no trouble finding work if he's open to other roles.
Schumaker's subtraction from the Sox' list of candidates leaves Guardians bench coach Craig Albernaz, Dodgers bench coach Danny Lehmann, and others still vying for the position.
