Lenyn Sosa trying to make most of what might be last chance with White Sox
Briefly

In September, teams focus on future prospects rather than immediate wins, making evaluations tricky. Players like Lenyn Sosa are seizing their opportunities, especially as non-contenders look toward the future. Sosa has struggled for two seasons to secure a spot on the White Sox roster but is now showing promise with a solid performance in spring training while playing against teams like the Dodgers. Meanwhile, Chase Meidroth also stands out as an effective on-base player, presenting competition at second base. With both players excelling, the White Sox evaluate their potential contributions for the upcoming season.
"I really like Sosa," manager Will Venable said. "He's got a little bit of defensive versatility, too. Obviously, I really like the bat. I know he had a good, strong [second] half last year and obviously the winter ball, like you mentioned..."
Meidroth, 23, had a .437 on-base percentage to go with a .293 batting average at Triple-A Worcester last season and has a .425 OBP in 2½ minor-league seasons.
Sosa, 25, singled and scored during a three-run sixth inning and is 7-for-18 (.389) in his last seven games. That follows a strong September last season in which he batted .374 with four home runs and an .964 OPS.
...after struggling to cement a spot on the major-league roster in each of the last two seasons, Sosa is making an impressive push with slightly more than two weeks left in spring training, which is another shaky measuring stick.
