Luis Robert Jr. is working on his performance after a slow start to the season, hitting .177 with five home runs and 24 RBIs. Following a brief break to relieve stress from poor results, he returned to deliver two hits and three RBIs in his first game back. Despite a tough weekend with no hits and multiple strikeouts, the White Sox look beyond immediate results, aiming to enhance Robert's comfort and confidence on the field as they implement adjustments in his work habits.
Robert went 0-for-4 on Saturday with three strikeouts and 0-for-4 Sunday with one RBI. But the Sox are processing more than the outcome of his specific at-bats.
"Clear his mind, make some physical adjustments to give him confidence in the box," Getz said before Friday's game.
"I'm a person that I'm open to the suggestions and I just want to get better, too," he said.
"Results aside, it's about him being comfortable and confident and continuing to adjust his work habits to where he wants them to be," manager Will Venable said.
