After clearing waivers, he was outrighted to Baltimore's Triple-A affiliate and then hit free agency in early October 2022. Phillips's short tenure with the Orioles was just a blip in his veteran career as he signed a deal with the Los Angeles Angels before the 2023 season.
Now, Phillips will try his luck with the Chicago White Sox after it was reported by Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY that he signed a minor league contract with them and will get paid $1.2 million if he makes to the MLB.
