Chicago White Sox left-hander Martin Perez has flexor tendon strain

Chicago White Sox pitcher Martín Pérez is dealing with a flexor tendon strain, having left a recent game against Boston due to forearm soreness. He was initially placed on the 15-day injured list for left elbow inflammation, which has since been extended to the 60-day IL. White Sox manager Will Venable remains optimistic, stating that they expect Pérez to return to the mound later in the summer. Pérez, an All-Star in 2022, has a 3.15 ERA in four starts this season and signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the team.

"He's continuing to get evaluated. We're going to treat him and expect him to pitch later on in the summer."
