From the moment he made it to the Majors in 1956 with the Chicago White Sox, Aparicio was a star. He took home the A.L. Rookie of the Year that season, and led the American League in stolen bases for nine consecutive years. He finished second for Most Valuable Player in 1959 and received nine Gold Glove Awards during his career.
By the time he retired, Aparicio had amassed impressive stats including 2677 hits, 1335 runs scored, and 506 stolen bases. He finally entered the Hall of Fame in 1984 after a successful 18-year career.
