Shubman Gill scored an impressive century, remaining unbeaten at 101, to guide India to a six-wicket victory over Bangladesh in their Champions Trophy debut in Dubai. After Bangladesh set a target of 229 runs, India's chase was bolstered by Gill's performance, who despite a tricky pitch, achieved the target with 21 balls to spare. Earlier, India's bowling attack, led by Mohammed Shami's 5-53, limited Bangladesh to 228 all out, following a shaky start where they were at 35-5 before a 154-run partnership stabilised their innings.
