Bryce Harper showcased his love for Philadelphia by getting a tattoo of the Phillie Phanatic on his forearm, revealing the significant bond he has with the city and its beloved mascot. Tattoo artist Hannah Matthews, who created the piece, expressed gratitude for being chosen for the tattoo. Harper's admiration for the Phanatic is longstanding, as demonstrated by his various personalized gear honoring the mascot during his time with the Phillies, along with his impressive performance, which included a .287 batting average and 30 home runs in the 2024 season.
"I'll never know why I got this opportunity of a lifetime -- but I could not be more grateful to Bryce for asking me to do this [Phillie Phanatic] piece," Hannah Matthews wrote on an Instagram post.
Harper's appreciation for the Phanatic is nothing new. He has worn headbands, custom Phanatic cleats, leg guards and a sliding mitt to honor the mascot during his six seasons with Philadelphia.
