The Lakers are gearing up to sign center Christian Koloko to a two-way contract, augmenting their roster after Christian Wood’s knee surgery and bolstering their frontcourt depth.
Koloko, who was a second-round pick in the 2022 draft, missed last season due to blood clot issues but showed significant defensive talent during his time with the Raptors.
Currently, the Lakers roster is full at 15 players, so they are anticipated to release one of the three players on two-way contracts to make space for Koloko.
Despite needing clearance from the NBA’s Fitness-to-Play Panel before returning to play, Koloko’s previous performance in limited minutes highlighted his potential as a strong defender.
