Internet-famous bald eagles welcome two chicks after years of trying
Briefly

The bald eagle couple Jackie and Shadow became internet sensations when their first eaglets hatched after three years of unfruitful nesting. With live footage drawing thousands of viewers, the excitement peaked as a chick emerged Sunday followed by another on Tuesday. The nonprofit Friends of Big Bear Valley, which installed the camera, highlighted the unique bond and personalities of the eagles. Jackie, who broke bald eagle mating norms, and Shadow have captivated audiences with their protective roles and familial dynamics, showcasing the intimate behaviors of these majestic birds.

Together, Jackie and Shadow attracted droves of viewers who watched their lives unfold over the seasons. The appeal, Steers said, is their personality.
