After an internal investigation, the Chicago Blackhawks have determined that Corey Perry has engaged in conduct that is unacceptable, the statement said, and in violation of both the terms of his Standard Player's Contract and the Blackhawks' internal policies intended to promote professional and safe work environments.
A little over two weeks later, the team said Perry would be stepping away from the team for the foreseeable future. General manager Kyle Davidson did not elaborate on the absence but did confirm it was the team's decision to hold him out. Perry's agent, on the other hand, said the decision was Perry's as he deals as he attends to a personal matter. Parodi argued that the wording of the team's statement gives away the true nature of the roster move, but neither the players nor the organization have commented on it any further.
