Bo Nickal believes Khamzat Chimaev holds a significant edge over Dricus Du Plessis in a potential title fight at middleweight. Both fighters are considered even in striking, but Nickal emphasizes Chimaev's unrivaled grappling skills as the deciding factor. He asserts that Du Plessis, while potentially having superior size and conditioning, will struggle against Chimaev's unique skill set. Nickal believes Du Plessis lacks the experience to fully prepare for Chimaev's wrestling prowess, which could shift the fight in Chimaev's favor, especially as it progresses.
I think that Dricus has the size, he probably has a little better cardio. I think striking is pretty even. I would say Khamzat obviously has a massive advantage in the grappling.
All that considered, I think I would give the edge to Khamzat because of that wrestling advantage. You just don't get strong grapplers like that competing. You're not used to that.
