Abrupt' maneuver to avoid collision injured SFO flight passengers, investigation reveals
Briefly

In September, a United Airlines flight encountered a severe near-collision incident, leading to significant injuries among passengers. According to a National Transportation Safety Board report, the injuries resulted from the flight crew's abrupt pitch maneuver in response to a traffic alert. This maneuver involved disengaging the autopilot, which caused the aircraft to pitch upward quickly. Two passengers were injured severely and two others sustained minor injuries when the sudden changes in altitude caused them to be hurled inside the cabin. The incident raised concerns about passenger safety protocols, particularly regarding the use of lavatories during critical flight maneuvers.
