White Sox continue pursuit to 'finish strong' in rematch vs. Twins
Briefly

The Chicago White Sox are 50-88 and prioritize finishing the season strong while developing a young roster. Manager Will Venable emphasized maintaining preparation in the weight room and training room as players experience full major-league seasons. The White Sox rallied for a 6-5 comeback in the series opener. The Minnesota Twins are 62-75 after a front-office fire sale and a recent stretch of 14 losses in 20 games. Manager Rocco Baldelli expects to find ways to win despite unproven players and call-ups. The Twins will start Simeon Woods Richardson (5-4, 4.59 ERA), who seeks his first win since July 8 and has a 4.32 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 16 2/3 career innings against Chicago.
"We just want to make sure we finish strong, on top of all the individual things that guys are doing on the field," White Sox manager Will Venable said. "We have a really young group, and as these guys are experiencing a full major-league season for the first time, there are things that happen in the weight room and training room that we need to really stay dialed in on to finish strong."
"We had the lead in the seventh inning," Baldelli said after Monday's loss. "We expect to win that game. We want to win that game. "We fell behind early. We fought back. We drove in runs. What else do we really want after a tough start? We just couldn't hold it and finish it off."
