Vera Klement, noted Chicago artist, dies at 93
Briefly

"She struck me as a uniquely Chicago artist in that she was independent, dogged in her pursuit of her vision and sadly, as is the case with too many Chicago-based figures, under-recognized and underappreciated," said former Museum of Contemporary Art curator Lynne Warren.
Klement was twice divorced, first from Werner Torkanowsky, an Israeli violinist, in 1955, then composer and conductor Ralph Shapey in 1976.
