A new report by the National Employment Law Project (NELP) shows that by 2025, 23 states alongside 65 cities and counties will significantly increase wages, with many localities raising the hourly pay to at least $17.
Across the U.S., especially in states like California and New Jersey, healthcare workers will see wages rise to at least $18 per hour, reflecting vital adjustments for living costs.
The Fight for $15 movement, initiated in 2012, has played a critical role in influencing numerous states to raise their minimum wage levels, as seen in 14 states moving to a $15 minimum.
In addition to minimum wage hikes, new worker protections have been enacted this year even in traditionally conservative regions, including paid sick leave in Alaska and Missouri.
