The Roads of Ancient Rome Visualized in the Style of Modern Subway Maps
Briefly

Sasha Trubetskoy created a subway-style diagram of major Roman roads accurately depicting the Empire around 125 AD.
Combining Stanford's ORBIS model, The Pelagios Project, and the Antonine Itinerary, the map includes both well-known historic roads and lesser-known ones.
Trubetskoy's map allows one to perceive the scale of travel during the Roman Empire era, noting it would take two months on foot from Rome to Byzantium, or one month on horseback.
For a small fee, Trubetskoy offers a downloadable PDF for printing of the detailed Roman roads map, providing a closer look at the intricate historical layout.
