Steve Albini Gets Chicago Street Named in His Honor
Briefly

The late Steve Albini is getting a street named in his honor in Chicago, Illinois, his longtime home, thanks to an ordinance passed by Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa.
Albini was deeply embedded in Chicago's music scene, fronted revered bands, and was an undisputed legend of the recording studio, preferring to be called an 'engineer.'
Aside from his music career, Albini was known for his staunch morals and criticism of exploitative music industry practices, as well as being a skilled poker player with World Series of Poker gold bracelets.
Albini's legacy includes recording iconic albums for bands like Nirvana and Pixies, and his last album with Shellac, 'To All Trains,' was set to be released shortly before he passed away.
