Lake County Superior Court Civil Division Judge Bruce Parent ruled Thursday that Franciscan Alliance must keep its Hammond emergency department open for nine months as the city looks for a replacement.The city filed a temporary restraining order against Franciscan on Monday, following the announcement that Franciscan Health Hammond would close its emergency room department at the end of the year.
