Hospital staff said such events create a space for children to feel like kids while hospitalized and help bring the outside world into the hospital. Families received hugs and visible relief, and parents experienced a welcome respite. The Walt Disney Co. organized the appearance through company ambassadors and coordinated activities with the hospital care center.
