Among them, Garrett Chiado is now an assistant general manager. Chiado was first hired by the Cubs in 2016 in the research and development department. He subsequently served as director of pro strategy and director of pro analytics. Now he gets a bump up the chain to the assistant general manager position."

With Chiado's promotion, they now have three assistant general managers. Ehsan Bokhari was hired away from the Astros in October of 2021. Jared Banner was promoted from the vice president of player development role in November of 2023."
Garrett Chiado was promoted to assistant general manager within the Chicago Cubs' baseball operations department. Chiado joined the organization in 2016 in research and development and later served as director of pro strategy and director of pro analytics. The Cubs' front office is led by president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer and general manager Carter Hawkins. The organization now has three assistant general managers, including Ehsan Bokhari and Jared Banner. Under Hoyer since November 2020, the club prioritized player development and improved to 92 wins in 2025. The team added Edward Cabrera and signed Alex Bregman for 2026.
