Okemos graduate Caleb Bonemer fulfilled a lifelong dream when the Chicago White Sox selected him 43rd overall in the MLB Draft.
Bonemer, named Michigan's Gatorade Player of the Year twice, posted a batting average above .400 and helped Okemos win a regional championship.
He made history as the highest-drafted player from the greater Lansing area, facing the decision to go pro with the White Sox or play college baseball at the University of Virginia.
