An executive for the Texas-based owners of the Burger King at the center of the ex-Ald. Ed Burke corruption trial told the jury today he went against his own boss's instructions to hire Burke's law firm for property tax work on a 'gut feeling' about their competence.
About 40 high school seniors at Ida Crown Jewish Academy in Skokie will travel to Israel Dec. 17-Jan. 11 to volunteer on farms while the regular workers are away.
