Chelsea have announced the signing of Caleb Wiley from Atlanta United for a reported fee of £8.5million. The 19-year-old has signed a six-year contract, with the option to extend that for a further year, keeping him at the club until 2031.
Wiley joined Atlanta's academy at age 11 and made his first-team debut in 2022, accumulating 85 appearances and scoring on his debut. He has also represented the USA senior side and is currently part of the Olympic squad.
Despite being Chelsea's sixth signing this transfer window, Wiley is expected to be loaned to Strasbourg in Ligue 1 after returning from the Olympics, providing him with the opportunity for more playing time and development.
