Source: Gotham trade USWNT's Williams to Reign
Briefly

Lynn Williams, 31, will join her fourth NWSL team in five seasons, as she is set to be traded from Gotham FC to the Seattle Reign. This trade involves Williams and goalkeeper Cassie Miller heading to Seattle in exchange for midfielder Jaelin Howell and an undisclosed fee.
Throughout her 10-year NWSL career, Williams has found remarkable success, scoring 83 goals in 188 league and cup matches. She has been part of four NWSL Championship teams as well as three NWSL Shield-winning squads.
Howell, 25, has been quite mobile, transferring to her third club in under a year, moving to Seattle after her stint at Racing Louisville. Despite her talent as a two-time Hermann Trophy winner, she has struggled for USWNT opportunities with only five appearances since 2022.
Cassie Miller, 29, contributed as Gotham's starting goalkeeper for a portion of the 2024 season but was later relegated to a backup role due to the team acquiring Ann-Katrin Berger.
