Player-coach Hylton extends contract at Charlton
Briefly

Charlton Athletic's player-coach Danny Hylton has extended his contract, continuing his role at the League One club. Hylton, who joined from Northampton last summer, has been supporting young players in the academy while actively participating in training despite his contract's expiration. He emphasizes mentoring rather than dictating how players should play, sharing his experiences instead. Manager Nathan Jones praised Hylton's positive impact and invaluable contributions to the development of young strikers as the team competes in the League One, currently positioned seventh.
"The work that they do within the academy is amazing because there's some top, top youngsters, especially in the forward areas as well," Hylton told the club website.
"My role is not to tell them what to do or how to play because they are their own person and player with their own styles, but it's just about giving them little pointers and using my experiences and what I've been through to help them."
"Danny has had a really positive impact on the environment here and has also played an important role in supporting the development of our young strikers," added Charlton manager Nathan Jones.
"He's at the start of his coaching career and already his experience has been invaluable, so I'm pleased he's signed a new contract with us."
