Palace to learn Europa League fate by Aug. 11
Briefly

The Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed Crystal Palace's appeal against their demotion from the Europa League. They qualified by winning the FA Cup but were ruled out due to connections with Lyon under UEFA's multi-club ownership regulations. Palace argues that controlling party John Textor has no influence over both clubs. The appeal includes a challenge against the UEFA Club Financial Control Body's decision and a request for readmission. If the appeal fails, Nottingham Forest will replace Palace in the Europa League.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has confirmed that Crystal Palace have lodged an appeal against their demotion from the Europa League, with an expedited decision to be communicated on or before Monday, Aug. 11.
Palace qualified for the Europa League by beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final, but Paris Saint-Germain's victory in the Coupe de France meant Lyon were promoted from the Conference League.
Multi-Club Ownership rules state that if two clubs violate the regulation, the club that finishes higher in the league will play in the European competition.
Palace's appeal has three strands: against the CFCB's decision, Nottingham Forest and Lyon, seeking to annul the CFCB decision and request readmission to the UEFA Europa League.
