Conor Gallagher is expected to fly to Spain on Monday to complete a move to Atletico Madrid, with the club making a successful offer of around £34 million. Gallagher, out of contract in 2025, decided to join the Spanish champions a minute before the weekend deadline.
Sky Sports reported that Chelsea may replace Gallagher with Matt O'Riley from Celtic, with interest from other 'top-six' Premier League clubs. Gallagher, a regular starter and captain for Chelsea, has been at the club since 2008 and had successful loan spells.
