In January 2023, Chelsea spent the best part of 300m on new signings. In January 2024, they spent nothing. The Blues have big plans for this summer's transfer window - Napoli's Victor Osimhen is likely to be a 100m+ target - but, while saving money for that is important, Chelsea have taken the gamble of not bolstering their squad for the remainder of the season.
One player who was available for sale, however, was Newcastle's Callum Wilson. Wilson does have a patchy injury record but has over 200 Premier League appearances to his name because he is reliable in front of goal. With seven strikes in 14 outings this season, he's clearly still at a good level.
