Jeep has issued an urgent recall for 194,000 plug-in SUVs due to fire risks, urging owners to refrain from parking them in garages and not to recharge.
The recall affects 2020-2024 Wrangler 4xe and 2022-2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe models, with an estimated five percent being at risk of catching fire.
Owners are advised to park away from structures and other vehicles until a remedy is provided, and to avoid recharging the SUVs to reduce fire risk.
A Stellantis spokesperson indicated that a remedy for the vehicles is imminent, and affected owners will be notified when to take their vehicles for servicing.
