Oval racing is managing tiny, minute differences that have huge effects. You're always changing, always thinking about doing something different. Sometimes it doesn't work, and you've got to readjust and make up for that.
I'd say [NASCAR] is one of the most dynamic forms of motorsport in the world. If you look at the Cup Series, the difference from first to 30th might be three-tenths of a second. It's nothing.
I screwed up by under-driving it into turn one. From the entry to the center of turn one, I lost three-tenths. I carried that all the way back around, and it killed me. The amount of distance I lost that in was probably 100 feet or less.
