Tesla has launched its first showroom in India, featuring the Model Y crossover which starts at approximately $70,000, significantly higher than in the U.S. The Indian version of the Model Y is imported from China. Competition will include luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz, making the luxury car market a challenge for Tesla. The showroom in Mumbai will also be complemented by a location in Delhi.
