Police in Northern California have been alerted to threatening notes left on Tesla vehicles, demanding that owners either sell or trade their cars due to a campaign from a group calling itself SANE - Students Against Nazi Extremism. The group has targeted multiple cities and labeled Elon Musk as a Nazi. Local authorities are responding with heightened security measures to protect Tesla dealerships and alert owners of the imminent threat of vandalism to their vehicles.
No Nazis in America. Tesla owners trade or sell before Feb 12. After that it is open season.
The group also described Tesla major shareholder Elon Musk as ‘an overt Nazi’...and threatened to ‘inflict physical damage to Tesla-branded vehicles.’
SANE wrote that its goal is to ‘create enough shame to make it onerous for anyone to buy or operate a Tesla-brand vehicle.’
In response to the threats, the department has begun to take ‘precautionary measures’ to protect a Tesla dealership in the city.
