Rivian is set to restart prep work on its Georgia factory in August, following a $6.6 billion funding approval from the Department of Energy. The company has already invested over $80 million into the project, generating 46 full-time jobs as of June 20, 2025. The installation of deep utilities will commence in August, with vertical construction expected to begin in early 2026. Rivian is also engaging with local suppliers to co-locate near the factory, which is planned to produce R2 and R3 models when operations begin in 2028.
