"Polestar wants to go from struggling upstart to a global force to be reckoned with. As part of this ambitious plan, it wants to launch no fewer than four new models in just three years, more than doubling its portfolio by the end of 2028. Not all of these cars will make it to the United States, at least not at first, but a surprise model will absolutely be sold stateside, the company's CEO, Michael Lohscheller, confirmed for InsideEVs"
"The new variant of the Polestar 4 is absolutely coming to the US, said Lohscheller. It has genes of an estate, with a window in the back. It's very progressive. There is no car like this. The yet-to-be-named version of Polestar's best-selling electric model was teased yesterday, and all signs point to it looking like a slightly lifted station wagon. Compared to the regular Polestar 4, this new version will have a rear windshield and offer more cargo space."
Polestar plans to introduce four new electric vehicles over three years, more than doubling its portfolio by the end of 2028. Only one of those models is certain to reach the U.S.: a wagon variant of the Polestar 4. The Polestar 4 wagon combines estate-like design with a rear windshield, increased cargo capacity, and a slightly lifted station-wagon appearance. The wagon will be the only mass-market electric station wagon in the U.S. and is expected to be priced similarly to the coupe-shaped Polestar 4 starting near $47,800. Production will occur in South Korea, making the model subject to a 15% import tariff and exposure to potential trade barriers.
