The electric motor has a 480-amp pulse inverter (PWR) with silicon carbide (SiC) transistors to increase efficiency. This semiconductor reduces switching losses, enabling higher frequencies. The Macan RWD reaches 60 mph in 5.4 seconds with 355hp and top speed of 136 mph.
The Macan 4S boasts a system output of 442hp with a short power overboost of up to 509hp and max torque of 578 lb.-ft. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 149 mph.
The new Macan RWD and 4S feature 800-volt architecture for up to 270 kW DC charging capacity. Charging from 10% to 80% takes around 21 minutes with a suitable DC fast-charging station.
