Lando Norris achieved his maiden victory at the British Grand Prix, completing a remarkable drive in challenging wet conditions. Oscar Piastri, his McLaren teammate, finished second after receiving a controversial 10-second penalty while leading. Norris expressed joy over winning at home, emphasizing its significance to him. He reflected on his experience, stating he was trying to savor the moment and enjoy the crowd's excitement. Having been inspired by champions like Lewis Hamilton, achieving this victory felt deeply personal and memorable for Norris.
This victory is everything I dreamed of, being on top at your home race is very, very special. I was just trying to enjoy the moment.
For me, it is my best win, maybe not the best way to win, but in terms of what it means to me, winning at home, it is very memorable.
These are moments that none of you guys get to witness. This is only something that I and very few Brits have achieved.
Silverstone is where it all started for me, watching Lewis, Jenson, Fernando, and it was that wet race here in 2008 when I began watching Formula One.
