Peggy Liu, a 50-year-old woman from Fremont, was identified as the fatal victim in a Thanksgiving crash on Highway 50 near Echo Summit.
The driver of the Toyota, a 28-year-old man, lost control of the vehicle, crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding with Donald Smith's Chevrolet SUV.
The collision not only claimed the lives of both Liu and Smith but also left several other passengers with varying degrees of injuries.
The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. near Audrain Way, approximately 6 miles west of Meyers, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety during holidays.
