In a unique incident on Florida's Crosstown Parkway, a bride was clocked by police driving at 105 mph while rushing late to her wedding. When approached by officers, she was dressed in her wedding gown and explained she was late for a 2:30 p.m. ceremony. The driver, a wedding guest, was pulled over and issued a mandatory court date for speeding, but the police issued a lighthearted remark about the situation, ultimately allowing them to continue on their way to the wedding.
"This stop gives a whole new meaning to racing to the altar," police wrote in a Facebook post.
"It's mine," said the bride, who was sitting in the passenger seat, dolled up in a long white gown.
"You're already late," the officer told the delayed bride, who nervously giggled and told the cop, "We're trying to get there."
Police issued the driver a mandatory court date for speeding and allowed the pair to move along so the bride could get hitched.
