The 2025 Formula 1 season began with three days of testing in Bahrain, where all ten teams debuted their cars. The testing provides crucial insights before the opening race in Melbourne on March 16. Lewis Hamilton, underlining his presence, initially tested the SF-25, noting a growing 'bond' with the car. Despite some technical difficulties, including a power outage, the teams pressed on, as six rookies also took to the track for their first experience. The cooler than anticipated Bahrain temperatures added an unexpected factor to the testing conditions.
All 20 cars took to the track on Wednesday morning for the first time after their liveries were unveiled last week at F1 75.
Hamilton's performance coach Angela Cullen, has returned to the paddock. Cullen and Hamilton parted ways in 2023 and she went on to work with Marcus Armstrong in IndyCar.
Temperatures in Bahrain are around 15°C this week which is colder than expected for the time of year.
The FIA decided to extend the session for an additional hour once the power came back on.
