Mike Elko addressed rumors concerning Bengals rookie defensive end Shemar Stewart's potential return to Texas A&M. Elko confirmed that Stewart's focus is on joining the Bengals this season and he has been training with his former teammates. Although there were speculations about Stewart pursuing a final year of NCAA eligibility and possible legal disputes, he prefers to play for the Bengals. Stewart, drafted 17th overall, has yet to sign his contract and participate in team activities.
There’s no intentions of Shemar to play for the Aggies this year. But Shemar has been around. He's very comfortable in our program.
Speculation was raised about the possibility of Stewart potentially returning to Texas A&M for his final year of NCAA eligibility. The most desirable outcome was to play for the Bengals.
