Keyless car thefts have surged as criminals use signal manipulation to intercept wireless communications between vehicles and key fobs, allowing remote unlocking and engine starts while sometimes blocking trackers to hamper recovery. Signal manipulation accounted for 58% of car thefts between April 2023 and March 2024.
