Cybertruck Sales Appear to Be Crashing
Briefly

Tesla has refrained from disclosing specific delivery numbers for the Cybertruck until a recent recall filing, which revealed only 46,000 units sold since its launch. Despite attempts to enhance sales through a federal tax credit and efforts to incentivize buyers with free supercharging, demand appears to be dwindling. The vehicle's controversies surrounding Elon Musk’s public behavior have further complicated its market reception. Tesla's financial health is jeopardized, with a significant year-to-date decline in stock performance as they try to salvage the Cybertruck's image with a new, cheaper variant soon to be released.
On Thursday, a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration revealed that the EV maker was recalling the truck for the eighth time since it went on sale in November 2023.
Despite Tesla's efforts to boost sales, with a federal tax credit and free supercharging, the desirability of the Cybertruck seems to be falling off a cliff.
Tesla has wiped out all gains it has made since President Donald Trump's election and is down over 36 percent year to date.
Whether the company will be able to resuscitate its massive, highly divisive vehicle with a $61,000 RWD variant remains to be seen.
