Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, will deploy 100 electric buses for EXPO 2027. The fleet will consist of 15 double-articulated buses sourced from Chinese Higer. Nine buses will operate between the National Stadium railway station and the EXPO site, while six will connect Block 45 to the event grounds. Half of the fleet will be battery-electric and half will utilize supercapacitor-based storage. Charging infrastructure will be established across multiple city terminuses. The purchase is estimated at around EUR 150 million, and the buses will serve regular public transport after EXPO.
Belgrade will deploy 100 electric buses for EXPO 2027, connecting the exhibition site in Surčin with key locations across the city. The fleet includes 15 double-articulated buses, sourced from Chinese Higer, with nine units covering a 1.4-kilometre route to National Stadium railway station.
Half of the 100 vehicles will be battery-electric, while the other half will use supercapacitor-based energy storage, with charging infrastructure installed at several terminuses across the city.
The buses will be purchased in a direct negotiation procedure, with unofficial information estimating the purchase price to be approximately EUR 150 million. Following EXPO, buses will be used for regular public transport.
