"This is the least enjoyable street track I've driven,"
"Normally they're really, really fun and great. This one is really, really low grip, which is not a great combination when you have the walls very close. It's incredibly high speed, which is dangerous. I mean the track itself is cool to be racing down the Strip in Las Vegas, but aside from that there's not much good stuff."
"Honestly, those first few laps I did in FP1 -- of course this is a new track for me -- I was shocked by how low the grip was. It's sketchy out there."
Oliver Bearman described the Las Vegas street circuit as the least enjoyable street track he has driven. He experienced the layout for the first time during Thursday's FP1 and FP2 sessions and found the cold evening conditions produced very low grip. He warned that low grip combined with close walls and incredibly high speeds makes the circuit sketchy and potentially dangerous, despite the spectacle of racing down the Strip. Light rain complicated running. The second practice was delayed by a loose drain cover. Formula 1 is the host and promoter and has invested in purpose-built pit and paddock facilities.
